The hiragana chart
Read across: a, i, u, e, o. Tap a letter to watch the strokes and hear the sound.
Voiced sounds: two small marks (゛) turn か into が (ka → ga). A small circle (゜) turns は into ぱ (ha → pa).
Combinations: a small ゃ, ゅ or ょ after an "i" sound makes one sound: き + ゃ = きゃ (kya).
Small っ: doubles the next consonant. がっこう is "gakkō" (school).
